Going the Extra Mile

Our MFD Sales team recently took a day out of the office, driving the 270 mile round trip from our offices in Kent to Dorset and back to visit Hugh Symons, one of our key technology suppliers. Our mission? To expand our knowledge of the AV/IT market, helping to ensure we continue to offer the very best advice and service to our customers.

During our visit, we saw and were able to test a range of their latest products, including interactive panels, digital signage and electronic visiting systems, and came away having printed our own guest passes, used the free-drawing functionality on the interactive panels and beaten our own Angry Birds record (!) on a 55” screen. By using the equipment, we were able to envisage how it could benefit the customer; a vital learning experience that opened our minds to how different organisations can thrive by combining technology with the right planning and advice. We were able to see more clearly the role KCS plays in the journey to modernise, simply by being able to help tailor the right solution to a requirement.

We were fortunate enough to meet Ben, Alicia and Simon from Hugh Symons who were helpful and informative as they educated us on how the industry is advancing, and were impressed when they asked if we wanted drinks via a digital signage screen, managed from a completely different room. It demonstrated how simple but effective this type of technology can be.

A long but rewarding and informative day resulted in us coming away with knowledge and experience we wouldn’t otherwise have had and are now confident to pass on to our customers.

The only downside is that Angry Birds will never be the same again...
